Single ended, or one power tube, would be class A. You can also have Class A
amps with two power tubes, our Sonny Jr one and two were both class A. Class A
just means both power tubes are on simaltaneously all the time, class A/B
means they oscillate on and off with each other at extremely high speed. That is
the simplest way I think it can be put. If guys want to get into the cathode
versus fixed bias, that's another topic.
